iPray

If people would only spent as much time in prayer as they would listening to iPods, i bet the world would be a nicer place to live in. There would be less despair, more hope; less aggression, more tolerance; less hate, more love.

Often, during Priesthood opening exercises, I would notice a young man obliviously "air drumming" as if he were listening to some rock song while everyone is intently listening to the Bishop giving instructions. This same lad would be out in the hallway every Sunday while classes are going on. I had a chance to talk to this young man once during an interview, and I found out that he spends most of his time listening to music. Hard, diabolic rock music, to be exact. No wonder. The Spirit cannot influence us if we are continuously under the influence of music that is loud, aggressive, and contains vulgar language.

I offered the young man some advice. Specifically some alternative things to do when he feels like listening to more of the music that is apparently controlling him. One of which was to talk to Heavenly Father. I told him that nothing shields us from temptation quicker than a humble and sincere prayer. He promised to do it. I promised him that it would make him happier.

Obey

This is one of the first designs I've come up with for the LDSpoofs line.

Many people feel that the commandments are burdensome and that they limit freedom and personal growth. But the Savior taught that true freedom comes only from following Him: "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:31–32). God gives commandments for our benefit. They are loving instructions for our happiness and for our physical and spiritual well-being.

Our obedience to the commandments is an expression of our love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The Savior said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). He later declared: "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love" (John 15:10). (from http://lds.org)

Faith Factor

A tribute to the late Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He passed away last December 2, 2008. He was 91.

"Faith exists when absolute confidence in that which we cannot see combines with action that is in absolute conformity to the will of our Heavenly Father. Without all three—first, absolute confidence; second, action; and third, absolute conformity—without these three all we have is a counterfeit, a weak and watered-down faith."

"Only when our faith is aligned with the will of our Heavenly Father will we be empowered to receive the blessings we seek."

Joseph B. Wirthlin, “Shall He Find Faith on the Earth?,” Ensign, Nov 2002, 82

Mission: Possible

For missionaries-to-be, current missionaries, and returned missionaries.
One Sunday, after interviewing a prospective missionary in my ward, i thought of this design. The young man was already 19 years old, but was having a hard time deciding whether he should go. Going on a mission seemed impossible at the moment with all the things he still wants to do. My advise to him was that the Lord wants him to go and that he can develop the desire if he does the right things.
Going on a full-time mission is one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I wish every young man can experience the joy of serving the Lord in the mission field. It is possible. It is the right thing to do.

G&D

This design is another tribute to Nephi. This is inspired by probably the most popular Book of Mormon verse there is: 1 Nephi 3:7.

"And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will GO and DO the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." Nephi: Just do it! v.2

Dedicated to Nephi, son of Lehi. He is one of the greatest examples of obedience in the Book of Mormon. It was his obedience to his father and the Lord that made him strong and powerful. Just how obedient was he? Try checking out his last words in the last verse of his last book.

Convert v.2

For all the Converts to the true church! Come to think of it... we are all converts at some point. It is now our responsibility as members to help in one of the major missions of the church-- to proclaim the gospel.

It is the Spirit that converts, but we all can help in the conversion of our brothers and sisters. Speak out my fellow saints!

(this is version 2. the first design just said "Convert All-Star." I thought it would make more sense for us LDS if i used the verb form of CONVERT, and then add ALL MEN to emphasize the scope of the missionary work of the church.)

To introduce the LDSpoofs t-shirt line, we present "CK". To live in the Celestial Kingdom is every latter-day saint's ultimate goal. We think that it is very meaningful to start off our showcase with this design.
